Business-Facing Experience: Strong client-facing/business explanation experience; ideally less than 5 years in a dedicated business-facing/functional advisory capacity.

Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly experienced SAP FICO Business Consultant with 10+ years of hands-on SAP FICO experience who can work directly with business stakeholders and clients.
The ideal candidate should have strong SAP FICO knowledge and, most importantly, the ability to understand complex technical/functional topics and explain them clearly to clients, business users, and leadership. The consultant must be confident in client meetings, requirement discussions, solution walkthroughs, and presentations.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The candidate should be more than a traditional SAP FICO configurator. We need someone who can sit in front of a client, understand the question, think through the business impact, and clearly explain the solution.
The consultant should be able to:
Understand → Analyze → Recommend → Explain → Defend the Solution
Strong communication, executive presence, confidence, and the ability to handle “Why?”, “How?”, “What is the business impact?”, and “What are our options?” questions are critical for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a senior SAP FICO subject matter expert and primary functional contact for business stakeholders.
  • Work directly with clients to understand business requirements, challenges, and process gaps.
  • Explain SAP FICO functionality, processes, configurations, and proposed solutions in simple business language.
  • Conduct client meetings, requirement-gathering sessions, workshops, solution walkthroughs, and presentations.
  • Translate business requirements into practical SAP FICO solutions.
  • Provide clear explanations of FI, CO, integration, financial processes, and business impacts.
  • Lead discussions around General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Controlling, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, and Profitability Analysis.
  • Explain the impact of SAP changes on existing business processes and downstream systems.
  • Work with technical teams, developers, integration teams, and other SAP functional teams to deliver solutions.
  • Review functional specifications and ensure solutions align with business requirements.
  • Support testing, UAT, defect resolution, cutover, and production support activities.
  • Present solution options, recommendations, risks, and trade-offs to client leadership.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and provide guidance based on extensive SAP FICO experience.

Required Skills:
  • 15+ years of strong SAP FICO experience.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with SAP FI and CO.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end financial business processes.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • General Ledger (GL).
    • Accounts Payable (AP).
    • Accounts Receivable (AR).
    • Asset Accounting (AA).
    • Bank Accounting.
    • Tax and financial reporting.
    • Cost Center Accounting.
    • Profit Center Accounting.
    • Internal Orders.
    • Profitability Analysis (CO-PA).
  • Strong understanding of integration with MM, SD, PP, and other SAP modules.
  • Excellent client-facing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to explain complicated SAP concepts to non-technical business users and executives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to independently lead client discussions and confidently answer business and SAP questions.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant SAP certifications are a plus.
